Deer droppings: fire making and glue strengthener
Dry deer droppings make a great ember as they are condensed plant fibre and are ideal for using with a magnifying lens.

Cowberry Jelly and Sea Buckthorn leather
Cowberries can be used to preserve other fruit by putting in cold water and can be left for a few months. See Ray Mears, Wild Britain
Natural preservative found in berries which also make good jam.
Sea Buckthorn has a natural setting agent which means it can be broken up then left and naturally sets into a fruit leather.

Reed Pith-fire tinder and candle wick
The inner pith from reeds can be stripped out and used:
-Tinder fire lighting- foamy material takes up a spark well by collecting it into small bundle then spark with strike alight.
-Wicks for candles by being dipped in bees wax, tree resin or used as a wick for oil lamps
